Flooring installation cost in Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast
Broad, typical ranges per square foot, installed, so you can tell whether a quote is in the normal range. Your real price comes from an installer who has measured your rooms.

Read these numbers as a starting point, not a price. They are typical ranges we see for the Treasure Coast, and they vary with the product you pick, the condition of the slab, the layout of the rooms and how busy installers are. Prices also change over time. A quote outside these ranges is not automatically wrong, but it is a good reason to ask why.
Typical installed ranges, floor and labor together
| Floor | Typical installed range | What moves it |
|---|---|---|
| LVP, floating click | about $4 to $9 per sq ft | Wear layer thickness, plank size, brand, attached pad |
| LVP, glue down | about $5 to $10 per sq ft | Adhesive, slab prep, product grade |
| Laminate | about $3.50 to $8 per sq ft | Water resistance, thickness, underlayment |
| Porcelain or ceramic tile | about $8 to $18 per sq ft | Tile size, pattern, leveling, the tile itself |
| Engineered wood | about $8 to $15 per sq ft | Species, veneer thickness, glue down or floating |
Typical ranges only. They vary by product, home and installer, and they are not a quote.

A worked example, in plain numbers
Say you want to replace the carpet in three bedrooms of a newer Port St. Lucie home, about 450 square feet in all. Installers usually add 5 to 10 percent extra material for cuts and waste. At a mid range LVP price of around $6 per square foot installed, that is roughly $2,700 for the floor. Add carpet removal and quarter round, and many jobs like this land somewhere around $3,000 to $4,000. A premium product, slab leveling or new baseboards can push it higher. A basic product in rooms with simple shapes can bring it lower.
Why quotes for the same rooms can differ so much
- Who supplies the floor. Some installers supply the product and some only install what you buy. Labor only quotes look cheaper because the floor is not in them.
- Prep. One quote may include leveling and a moisture test, and another may assume the slab is fine. The second one can grow once the floor is up.
- Trim. Baseboards, quarter round, transitions and door trimming add real time. Check that each quote includes them.
- Layout. Closets, angled walls and lots of doorways mean more cuts and more waste than one big square room.
- Minimum charges. A single small room often costs more per square foot because the crew still has to set up and haul away.
How to compare quotes
Ask each installer for a written quote that lists the product with its name and wear layer or thickness, the square footage including waste, removal, prep, trim and what happens if they find a problem under the old floor. Ask for proof of insurance. Be careful with anyone who wants the full price before the job starts. Paying a deposit for materials is normal, paying everything up front is not.
Questions homeowners ask
What is a fair price per square foot to install LVP on the Treasure Coast?
A common range is around $4 to $9 per square foot installed, floor and labor together. Labor alone is often a few dollars per square foot. Your product choice and the condition of the slab move it the most.
Is tile more expensive than LVP?
Usually yes. Tile takes more labor, needs a flat slab and takes longer to set and grout. Installed tile commonly runs about $8 to $18 per square foot, compared with about $4 to $9 for LVP. Tile also lasts a very long time and handles water best.
Why did my quote go up after the old floor came out?
The slab under old carpet or tile is not visible until it is exposed. Cracks, high spots, low spots or moisture can mean extra prep. A good quote explains up front how that will be handled and priced.
Do installers charge extra to move furniture?
Some include it and some charge for it, especially for heavy pieces or a full house. Many will not move electronics, pianos or items with water lines. Ask before the job.
